Questions and Answers Straight-rail or traverse

I have a patient who needs an overhead lift in the bedroom. I can see on your website that you have several different solutions. When should I choose a straight rail and when should I choose a traverse system?

The system best suited depends on your needs. The straight rail is a functional and economical alternative if you just want to lift from one or two places in a straight line, for instance, a bed and a chair. The traverse system is a much more flexible alternative which provides for lifting in a larger area. Therefore, we recommend this solution if you need more lifting points or if you want the flexibility and possibility to rearrange the furniture in the room in the future. A strong argument for the traverse solution is also the possibility for better ergonomics for the caregiver, since lifting can take place where there is most room to work.
